Chances Are: 216ft 5-Deck Superyacht

AMS designed this 216 foot [66m] superyacht for an East Asian client who enjoys taking his family cruising. As might be expected this yacht has an abundance of space on its five decks serviced by a hydraulic lift encircled by stairs. In fact, the total enclosed space measures more than 15,000 square feet [1,394 m2].

Following is a deck by deck description of the general arrangement of the magnificent Chances Are.

Deck 1: Aft is a garage for two 24-foot [7.3m] RIB tenders, jets skis, scuba gear and a 4-person submarine. A transom beach opens from the stern and port and starboard doors open from the hull-sides for launching and retrieval of watercraft and divers. Next forward is the engine room with an isolated, air-conditioned control room. Forward of the engine room are three guest staterooms [one is a two-room suite] with a common sitting room. Next forward to port is the galley with the laundry and crew mess to starboard. Furthest forward are five double crew cabins each with private head and stall shower. Below is the Deck 1 arrangement:

Deck 2 [Main Deck]: Beginning aft is a generous covered deck space which opens into the cocktail lounge featuring a six-stool bar and a concert grand piano. Next forward is the main saloon which is flanked by large side windows and a fireplace forward. Central on Deck 2 is the entrance foyer with access to the lift and a powder room. The dining room opens from the foyer through port and starboard doors and seats up to 12. The balance of Deck 2 accommodations comprises the 2,000 sqft [186 m2] owner's apartment which exploits the full 36-foot [11m] beam of the yacht and has a private library, office and den. In a covered hold forward is storage for an additional RIB and two jet skiis. Below is the Deck 2 arrangement:

Deck 3: This deck features a view lounge aft with seating for 14 and a flat screen HDTV. Just forward is the fireside room with a baby grand piano, fireplace and a snack bar. Next forward are port and starboard guest staterooms for the owner's family members. The ship's office is forward to port and the gym and a powder room are to starboard. The forwardmost area on Deck 3 features the owner's study, library and office. Below is the Deck 3 arrangement:

Deck 4: A helicopter landing platform takes up the aft portion while the deckhouse forward has private staterooms for the captain and first officer, officer's mess, radio room and wheelhouse. Below is the Deck 4 arrangement:

Deck 5: The final stop for the lift puts one a full 36-feet [11m] above the water on an open observation deck with 360-degree walk-around. Deck 5 is not shown.

Chances Are displaces 800 metric tons, is powered by twin 2600 bhp [1940 kW] diesel engines, tops at 18-knots and has a cruising range of 5000 nautical miles at 14-knots. ↑Top
